SUMMER COLLECTION 2024

LANZAROTE – NATURE FROM TIP TO TOE!

LANZAROTE – archaic, bona fide, and in its austereness impressively charismatic. Those who look closely realise that this isle in the Atlantic is much more than volcanic rock and desert. What makes it so special here lies in the details. KATHARINA HOVMAN’s favourite island is a source of inspiration – her colours, her designs, so natural and unadulterated like the island itself. Perfect for shooting our SUMMER COLLECTION 2024.

TIP: PUT ON HEADPHONES and ACTIVATE AUDIO to enjoy LISTENING to this LOOKBOOK, too :)

NATURALS

CIUDAD ESTRATIFICADA

SANDY, MARMOR, SILVER and CEMENT – the island’s rocks rich in minerals form the ideal setting for our range of colours in the NATURALS.

We start off at the CIUDAD ESTRATIFICADA in Teguise. Glittering desert sand with bizarre rock formations – in manifold shades of grey. Tarima in a casual SILVER DAY DRESS with DOTS that shimmer in the morning sun and a sporty coat made of HEAVY TAFFETA in the hue called CEMENT.

The new PLEATS TOP has an especially graceful look to it in this craggy landscape. The collarless LOOSE COAT in marble-like MARMOR blends right in with the countryside.

LAGOON & DESERT

CALETÓN BLANCO & SÓO

By CALETÓN BLANCO, a scenic cove with a pristine beach, we get to experience a remarkable interplay of colours: white sand, black volcanic rocks, crystal-clear water and boulders overgrown in bright green: THE backdrop for our fresh PISTACCHIO and the subtle LAVANDA.

On the dusty rural road to SÓO on the outskirts of the EL JABLE desert plain – nothing but sand as far as the eye can see. At a location like this Tarima’s outfit in GREEN TEA and MARMOR seems naturally refreshing.

LAPILLI

MALVASÍA VOLCÁNICA

“Lapilli” is the name of the unique method with which MALVASÍA VOLCÁNICA grapevines are planted in deep hollows in the volcanic soil to protect them from strong winds. The region for winegrowing on Lanzarote is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and shapes the minimalistic appearance of the landscape. The black soil lends the colour FLAMINGO a special radiance.

SURFER BEACH

FAMARA

From the fishing village of LA CALETA to the steep bluff of FAMARA – golden yellow sand stretches for kilometres. Our TAFFETAS ROSE and LAVANDA waft in the balmy evening breeze.

GRAND BACKDROP

CANTERAS DI TINAMALA

Formerly the home of several quarries, the CANTERAS DI TINAMALA provide yet another scenic backdrop. Our model Ruth wears a KAFTAN DRESS in COPPER that merges seamlessly into the copper-coloured wall.

TINT – our POWER COLOUR this summer, sets the perfect COLOUR BLOCKING in front of this striking background. The film adaptation of the opera “Aida” was shot here in 1987.

DESIGNED BY NATURE

LAS GRIETAS

The GRIETAS on Lanzarote – one of the top spots to post an Instagram. The slopes of the Montaña Blanca volcano have cracks where the layers of lava from past eruptions can be seen in these fissures. The outfits in MARMOR, CEMENT and SILVER form a subtle match at this spectacular location.

THE POWER OF THE ELEMENTS

TENESAR

The landscape around TENESAR is passionately fierce and wild. Dramatic breakers along the surf meet bizarre black lava formations. TENESAR – an abandoned fishing village on the west coast. We bring the handwoven decorative elements from our limited COUTURE SERIES into play here.

Where fiery red lava flows once cascaded into the sea and solidified into natural pools, crystal white salt glitters in the sunshine here, just asking to be harvested. “BLACK in BLACK is BEAUTIFUL!” Our lustrous, rich TAFFETA-Black meets deep matte lava black.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE

FEMÉS

FEMÉS, a peaceful mountain village, captivates due to its simplicity and fantastic view. The white houses are typical for the whole island. In inland areas the houses have green doors and windows, along the coastline they’re painted blue. Thanks to artist and architect César Manrique there are no “architectural eyesores” here.

The simplicity of our BLACKS & WHITES is framed in a lovely setting here. Perhaps it was a hamlet like Femés that inspired KATHARINA HOVMAN to design the relief-like RIBSTOP fabric. The square structure gives these TAFFETAS a special touch of their own.
